Bennett’s Jolts into Cold Brewed Coffee

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Just in time for summer, Bennett’s Fresh Roast is now jumping on the cold brewed coffee bandwagon and introducing the coffee craze to Southwest Florida.

Monday, Bennett’s began selling cold brewed coffee at both their Southwest Florida locations. Even though the coffee looks identical to iced coffee, cold brewed coffee is far from it.

The entire process is brewed with no heat, unlike iced coffee which is hot coffee poured over ice, this process takes 12-18 hours to brew all in cold temperatures. Bennett’s brews their own concentrate starting with five pounds of ground coffee that sits in cold water, refrigerated for up to 18 hours and is then transferred to a keg and served on a tap, that uses nitrogen much like draft beer.

Taste is different as well, a much richer, smoother and sweet taste is the end result, including about twice the caffeine as regular coffee. Cold brewed coffee can be tried at both Bennett’s locations in Fort Myers at 2011 Bayside Parkway and on Sanibel Island at 1020 Periwinkle Way.
