Police identify bicyclist who died in collision with car in North Fort Myers

NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. — Florida Highway Patrol officials have identified a man who died last week when he rode his bicycle into the path of an oncoming car in North Fort Myers.

Lee County EMS pronounced Fort Myers resident James Wilson, 50, dead on the scene of the May 19 wreck. He crossed the northbound lanes of Old 41 and struck a Chevy Malibu at the intersection with Brooks Road, FHP said.

Wilson wasn’t carrying any identification at the time of the collision.
