MGN FORT MYERS, Fla.- A gun buy back event is being held at the Friendship Baptist Church on Saturday, June 4, the Fort Myers Police Department said. The event, taking place from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m., will provide citizens the opportunity to surrender unwanted firearms with “no questions asked.” Those who turn in fire arms will not be asked to provide names or personal information, police said. The police department will offer $50 gift cards for every functioning firearm turned in and $10 gift cards for any non-functioning or replica firearms. For safety reasons: Citizens are asked to place unloaded firearms in the trunks of their vehicle before arrival. Do not remove the firearm from the vehicle. Trained law enforcement personnel will retrieve each firearm and administer the gift card payments.
