FORT MYERS, Fla. — A few showers are possible Friday morning and scattered storms could pop up in the afternoon and evening around Southwest Florida.

The best chance of a.m. rain will be west of Interstate 75, while the best chance during the p.m. hours is for areas east of I-75. Some storms could bring heavy rain, lightning and gusty winds. Still, Friday shouldn’t be as soggy as Thursday, when more than 5 inches of rain fell in Cape Coral.

Otherwise, it’ll be mostly cloudy, muggy and humid. Highs will be around 89.

Areas of haze, low clouds and fog will hang around during the morning. Winds today will be out of the southwest at 10-15 mph.
