BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. — The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is looking for two vehicles that left the scene of a Tuesday night crash that seriously injured a pedestrian at the corner of Bonita Beach Road and Old U.S. 41.

A white four-door sedan initially struck the pedestrian, and a light green late model Lexus SUV ran over him once he was on the ground, witnesses said, according to the sheriff’s office. Both vehicles have front-end damage and blood on them and continued eastbound on Bonita Beach Road, the witnesses told the sheriff’s office.

The pedestrian, whose injuries aren’t life-threatening, is male, but the sheriff’s office didn’t otherwise identify him. He wasn’t in a crosswalk when he was hit, the sheriff’s office said.

If you have any information on this hit and run accident, call the sheriff’s office at 239-477-1000 or Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS.
