FORT MYERS, Fla. – In an emotional plea Wednesday, the family of a 23-year-old murdered mother of two said they want anyone with information about her death to contact authorities.

Lalita “Lala” Odom was shot and killed on the 3000 block of Dora Street on Monday morning. Now her family is living a nightmare.

Her brother, Cornelius Odom, and other family members said they believe Lala’s boyfriend may be responsible for her death.

“We always heard bad things. We always heard what type of guy he was,” he said.

Neighbors said they they heard Lala arguing with a man when the dispute turned violent. That man shot Lala twice then ran off, neighbors said.

Fort Myers Police Department does not have anyone in custody for the crime. Law enforcement officials would not name a suspect, though they say they are receiving tips in the case.

“We need justice. We need justice. She has two kids that’s going to never see their mom again,” sister Toncora Odom said.
