Suspect robs woman of her car, leaves phone in her garage

NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. – An armed suspect followed a woman home from the grocery store, entered her garage and threw her to the ground before stealing her car at gunpoint, neighbors said.

The alleged crook is believed to have hopped out of a blue car, driving away in the woman’s white Cadillac. He drove off trailing the blue car, neighbors said.

But he allegedly left behind a cellphone in the woman’s garage, according to neighbors. And neighbors said it was not the first time they had seen his blue getaway car.

“The third of July, I’d seen a suspicious blue car in the neighborhood and I told the neighbors about it — just told them to keep a check on it. So we all kind of keep an eye on stuff,” a neighbor, Scott Sorensen, said.

Lee County deputies have not responded to requests to confirm the incident.
