Woman held in husband’s shooting was Democratic delegate

UNIONTOWN, Pa. (AP) – A Pennsylvania woman accused of trying to kill her husband over the weekend was one of the more than 4,500 delegates to next week’s Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.

Democratic Party officials say they expect to get Deanna Vicites’ resignation Tuesday. They say Hillary Clinton’s campaign will choose a replacement.

Authorities say the 47-year-old Vicites shot her husband, Vincent, in the neck Sunday. He is a Fayette County commissioner.

She is being held on bond on an attempted homicide charge. Court records don’t list a lawyer for her.

Her husband is recovering at a West Virginia hospital.

According to a criminal complaint, the couple told responding officers the shooting was an accident, but investigators say they determined that Deanna Vicites tried to kill her husband.
