Increasing clouds, scattered p.m. storms expected

FORT MYERS, Fla. — Mostly sunny skies at sunrise will give way to mostly cloudy conditions Wednesday afternoon across Southwest Florida.

The clouds will begin to increase after 9 a.m., with a few spotty showers and storms by late morning mainly east of Interstate 75. Scattered storms will develop across the area in the afternoon, with heavy rain, lightning and gusty winds possible.

The rain will be clearing out by early evening, when a few spotty storms will linger. Highs will be near 92 and lows will dip to near 76.
