BARTOW, Fla. (AP) – A man has been charged with throwing a glass salsa jar at another vehicle in an apparent road-rage incident.

The Florida Highway Patrol tells local media that Sunday, 42-year-old Jason Michael Drew was attempting to merge onto State Road 400 in a Ford pickup. The victim was also traveling in that direction in a Nissan Altima.

Troopers say Drew told them he felt the victim didn’t allow him to merge because she crossed a solid white line, and thought she tried to run him off the road.

Drew then allegedly threw an empty glass salsa jar at the passenger side of the Altima.

Responding troopers found a box of empty salsa jars in Drew’s vehicle.

Drew is charged with throwing a deadly missile at an occupied vehicle and criminal mischief/property damage. It’s unclear if he has an attorney.
