GOLDEN GATE ESTATES, Fla. — A man was arrested Friday after Collier County Sheriff’s Office deputies encountered what they estimate was $843,000 worth of marijuana at his home.

Celestino Gonzalez, 47, is accused of operating a grow house that appeared to have been in operation for more than a year. The sheriff’s office vice and narcotics unit found 220 live marijuana plants, along with other plants that had been harvested and 50 pounds of processed marijuana, according to a police report.

Several air conditioning units, high-intensity light bulbs, fertilizers and other supplies and equipment were also found at the residence on the 3900 block of 16th Avenue Southeast.

Police also said they found five guns. It’s unclear if the firearms were licensed.

Celestino was in custody as of Saturday afternoon and is facing both felony and misdemeanor charges.
