Rain chances better on Sunday than on Saturday

Published: Updated:

FORT MYERS, Fla. — Saturday looks to be the drier of the two days this weekend across Southwest Florida.

Storms will be isolated Saturday but become scattered Sunday as higher levels of moisture return. Highs will be near 91 on Saturday but slightly cooler Sunday, when they’ll be near 89. Overnight lows will be near 77.

Tropical Storm Earl has now become a Tropical Depression as it moves over land in Mexico and is expected to dissipate soon. An area of disturbance in the Gulf of Mexico threatens to bring flooding to areas north of Tampa but isn’t expected to be a problem for Southwest Florida.
