LAKE WALES, Fla. (AP) – A mother has been accused of drunkenly crashing into a deputy’s cruiser and driving away while her young son was still in the car.

Citing a police report, news outlets say that 41-year-old Tanga Frazier crashed into a Polk County deputy’s cruiser Sunday night in Lake Wales and fled the area.

Deputies say they found the car less than an hour later, with Frazier and her 5-year-old son inside. No injuries were reported.

Investigators say Frazier told them she was drunk from drinking four beers and swerved off the road shortly after colliding with the cruiser.

Frazier was charged with negligent child abuse, leaving the scene of an accident involving property damage and drunk driving. It’s unclear whether she has an attorney.
