FORT MYERS, Fla. — Anne Holton, the wife of Democratic Vice Presidential nominee Tim Kaine, will speak in Fort Myers on Monday, Democratic Party of Lee County Recording Secretary Trish Trotter told WINK News.

Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s campaign later confirmed the visit, adding that Holton will also appear next week in Palm Beach County. Clinton on Thursday formally endorsed fellow Democrat Patrick Murphy, a Congressman whose district includes part of Palm Beach County, in his bid to unseat Marco Rubio from the U.S. Senate.

Further details about Holton’s visit weren’t immediately available.

Holton, 58, resigned as Virginia’s Secretary of Education in August after Clinton picked Kaine as her running mate. A Harvard-educated lawyer with a history of working on children’s issues, Holton is the daughter of former Virginia governor Linwood Holton.

Holton returned to the Virginia executive mansion as the state’s first lady from 2006-10 when Kaine, now in the Senate, served as governor.
