Lockdown ends at Pine Ridge Middle

Published: Updated:

NORTH NAPLES, Fla. — Pine Ridge Middle School was briefly on lockdown Friday afternoon, WINK News has learned.

A suspicious phone call was made to the school at 1515 Pine Ridge Road, but authorities determined it was a hoax. Most of the students were already gone for the day when the lockdown happened because of an early dismissal, but some were still at the school for extracurricular activities.

The entrance off of Panther Lane was blocked by a Collier County Sheriff’s Office deputy. Multiple patrol cars were on school grounds with their lights on.

Deputies were still checking the school and conducting an investigation at 2:30 p.m., after the lockdown had ended.

No further information is immediately available.
