NORTH NAPLES, Fla. — The Collier County Sheriff’s is seeking help from the public as it searches for the person who burglarized an antique store on 5510 Shirley St.

The unidentified person made off with more than $20,000 in jewelry from Homer Helter’s Antiques and Military Mall sometime between 8 p.m. Sept 27 and 8 a.m. Sept. 28. Deputies believe the person may be driving a small dark-colored pickup truck — perhaps a Chevy S-10, Mazda B200 or similar vehicle.

The owner of the store, Homer Helter, died Sunday after suffering two strokes, the first of which happened Sept. 27 before the burglary took place.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Collier County Sheriff’s Office at 239-252-9300. To remain anonymous and be eligible for a reward, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).
