FORT MYERS, Fla. – Nicole has strengthened to a Category 2 hurricane in the Atlantic Ocean on Thursday. It is the sixth hurricane of the 2016 season. The storm has maximum sustained winds of 105 mph, according to the latest advisory from the National Hurricane Center. There are no watches or warnings in effect, which means it does not pose a threat to any coasts at the moment. Nicole is currently staying out in the Atlantic but is expected to drift southward Friday and Saturday. Bermuda will be experiencing rough surf conditions for the next few days.
