MIAMI (AP) – Authorities say a man and woman face multiple charges after they were found unconscious in a car stopped along a South Florida road with their two young children unattended in the back seat.

Miami police said in an arrest report that Miami Fire Rescue officials knocked on the car’s window Tuesday morning to wake up 35-year-old Carlos A Roboyras-Rodrigues and 26-year-old Catherine Lobb. The car was in drive and in the southbound center lane of Northwest Seventh Avenue, the Miami Herald reported.

Police spokesman Freddie Cruz says they were “passed out as if they were at home sleeping.”

Local news outlets report the couple’s sons – ages 2 and 2-months – appeared dirty and hungry.

The Department of Children and Families took custody of the children.

Medical treatment wasn’t administered at the scene and they were booked into jail.

Jail records don’t list lawyers for either.
