NAPLES, Fla. — A Naples man was sentenced Tuesday to 20 years in prison for two counts of human trafficking and two counts of tampering with a witness for his role in an organized crime ring that profited from sexual exploitation, the office of the state attorney said.

Gary Cherelus, 33, coerced his victims into prostitution with threats, violence and drugs, according to the state attorney.

Cherelus, who is in custody, is listed as a sexual offender in Florida, stemming from a conviction involving the battery of a victim 12 to 15 years old in 2004.
