Lehigh Acres teen’s car hit in alleged post-football game shooting

LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. – A teenager told deputies he was caught in the middle of gunfire on Oct. 14 while driving home from a Lehigh Acres Senior High School football game.

The alleged shooting happened on 12th Street near Floyd Avenue, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. The teenager said he heard gunshots and noises popping against his car, reports show. That teenager told deputies he found a bullet hole in his back bumper. Deputies did not find any additional damage caused by gunfire and no shell casing were recovered at the location of the shooting, according to reports.

The teenager’s mother declined pressing any charges.
