CAPE CORAL, Fla. – A North Fort Myers man is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was ejected from his motorcycle in a crash that closed the 100 block of E. Hancock Bridge Parkway just before 11 p.m. Thursday.

David Adair, 55, was riding down Hancock Bridge Parkway toward S.E. 1st Place when he hit the median, lost control and began traveling across eastbound lanes before being thrown from his motorcycle, police said.

His crash was alcohol or drug-related, the Cape Coral Police Department said.

Adair was wearing a half-shell helmet, which is not approved by the department of transportation. He has serious injuries to his head and neck, police said.
