FORT MYERS, Fla. — A student at James Stephens Academy Elementary School claimed she was sexually assaulted by another student, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
Police reports show the student called the DCF Hotline saying she had been inappropriately touched on the school bus. The student disclosed to a behavior specialist that the suspect kissed her and touched her “where she pees.”
The student also said this inappropriate touching had been happening for several weeks but never told the bus driver or any school officials, saying she was afraid of the suspect.
Deputies investigated further and interviewed other students, who didn’t mention any inappropriate contact between the two students. They said they’ve seen the two students kissing on the bus and that the student would make sexual advances towards the suspect.
School administrators decided it was within the students’ best interest if they didn’t ride the bus home. It is unclear what their new method of transportation will be.
