Lee County carrier to accept plea deal for dumping mail

FORT MYERS, Fla. — A U.S. postal carrier seen on video throwing stacks of flyers into a dumpster is set to accept a plea deal in the federal case against her, court documents show.

Fort Myers resident Angelica Morman, 28, is expected to enter a guilty plea in response to an indictment alleging that she unlawfully destroyed more than 400 pieces of mail. The sentence she’ll receive is unclear, but the U.S. Justice Department said in September that Morman could see up to five years in jail.

Surveillance video showed someone matching Morman’s description getting out of a mail truck and throwing away flyers from Bonita Springs real estate agent Hudson Warren. The dump took place behind Luigina’s Pizza & Grill on 18767 S Tamiami Trail in San Carlos Park.
