BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. — A rollover crash that left a woman injured left the northbound lanes of I-75 near temporarily blocked mile marker 115, not far from the Lee-Collier county line.

The highway reopened at 6:30 p.m. after the crash that took place at about 6 p.m.

A helicopter transported 54-year-old Shelly Schwalm to Lee Memorial Health, Florida Highway Patrol Lieutenant Gregory Bueno said. Steam could be seen rising from one of the vehicles, but it was not on fire, according to a district official.

Schwalm was driving north in the right lane on I-75 approaching Bonita Springs Rd S.E. She veered off the road into the right shoulder and collided with a tree, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Schwalm then spun out until her car rested on its roof.

Schwalm is currently in critical condition at Lee Memorial Health.
