BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. — City Council members voted on Thursday to ban people form smoking medial marijuana in public places if Amendment 2 becomes law.

The move, a preventative measure in case the measure that would legalize medical marijuana passes on election day, follows a decision by Charlotte County commissioners to institute a nine month moratorium on marijuana dispensaries.

Bonita Springs residents will have a chance to voice their concerns about the ordinance during next week’s council meeting.
