Clewiston slow to divulge positive E. Coli water test

Published: Updated:

CLEWISTON, Fla. – A water sample taken from one of Clewiston’s underground wells tested positive for E. coli, a sign that the city’s drinking water may be contaminated with fecal matter.

A notice was issued to the public on Oct. 13, more than a month after test results came back on Sept. 7. That’s despite a state requirement of public notice within 24 hours of a positive test.
