MARCO ISLAND, Fla. — A bicycle officer from the Marco Island Police Department was struck by a car Tuesday afternoon, the department said.
The officer, George Guyer, was treated and released for minor injuries at a hospital after the collision near Elkcam Circle and Bald Eagle Drive. The driver was cited for a failure to yield, according to the department.
