Gov. Scott says he’d decline Trump cabinet post

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Gov. Rick Scott said Wednesday he would pass on a job in Donald Trump’s cabinet if offered to remain in charge of Florida.

Scott, the chair of the pro-Trump super PAC Rebuilding America Now, nonetheless expressed excitement in a CNN interview about having a fellow Republican in the White House for the first time since he became governor almost six years ago.

Scott declined to express support for U.S. House Speaker Paul Ryan, saying the decision about whether he should retain his position is up to Congress.
