SOUTH FORT MYERS, Fla. – A deadly wreck claimed the life of one person and temporarily closed the southbound lanes of Treeline Avenue just south of Daniels Parkway on Thursday afternoon.

Aaron Williams, 89, of Fort Myers, was killed after an unidentified driver crossed the median, striking the 2007 Buick that Williams was driving.

The second driver was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital with critical injuries. Troopers are still trying to contact the driver’s family.

Treeline reopened just before 6 p.m., about three hours after crash, which involved two cars.
