IMMOKALEE, Fla. — A Dunkin Donuts clerk was opening up the shop for the morning and on the phone with her manager. Moments later, she was on the ground and in fear for her life as a former co-worker held her at gunpoint. That former employee was arrested after pulling off an armed robbery Saturday morning at his old shop on 1556 Lake Trafford in Immokalee, the Collier County Sheriff’s Office said. James Taylor, 21, of 326 S. Second St. in Immokalee, is accused of holding up the store with a sawed-off shotgun and making off with about $350 cash, according to deputies. He had been fired for stealing from the company, the manager said. Deputies found the gun in a dumpster behind an adjacent CVS and apprehended Taylor as he rode a bicycle nearby, they said. Surveillance photos and a statement from a homeless man who said he saw Taylor running through a nearby alley helped lead to the arrest. Taylor is facing charges for armed robbery, grand theft and illegal possession of a firearm. No bond is set.
