EAST NAPLES, Fla. — A man believed to be the only veteran of the Pearl Harbor attack living in Southwest Florida was among a dozen veterans honored at a ceremony Wednesday at the Villa at Terracina Grand senior-living community.

John Gideon, now 96 years old, was serving in the Navy and working on a motor launch when the first wave of attacks hit 75 years ago to the day.
