CAPE CORAL, Fla. — Discussion about the city’s charter schools continued Tuesday after a heated exchange Monday between Cape Coral Mayor Marni Sawicki and Nelson Stephenson, superintendent for the city’s charter schools. A Charter School Governing Board meeting began at City Hall just hours after Monday night’s City Council meeting. The room on Tuesday was divided between supporters and critics of Stephenson. Many students missed class to attend the meeting and express their opinions.
