Accused dealer busted near Cape Coral middle school

CAPE CORAL, Fla. – An accused drug dealer is behind bars after a sale to undercover officers.

Bryan Ortiz, 24, of 224 SE 16th Place, sold about 26 grams of cocaine to Lee County deputies near Caloosa Middle School. The sale led to a drug raid at his Cape Coral home where deputies said they discovered more than two pounds of marijuana, a half ounce of cocaine powder, 10 Oxycodone pills, a cocaine press, narcotic sale items and a gun.

Ortiz was arrested Friday and faces a litany of charges, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office:

  • Four counts of cocaine sales within 1,000 feet of a school
  • Cocaine possession with intent to distribute
  • Marijuana possession with intent to distribute
  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Utilizing a two way communication device to facilitate a felony
  • Four counts of cocaine possession within 1,000 feet of a school

He is being held with no bond on his pending weapons charge and $266,500 on all the other charges.
