PUNTA GORDA, Fla. – The victim killed in a crash Saturday morning at Florida Street and Dundee Road was identified as 34-year-old Joshua Clayton Stewart of Punta Gorda. Stewart was driving northbound on Florida Street when he veered across the southbound lane and into a utility pole. Then he drove into a tree, which sent his car spinning before it stopped by crashing into a guard rail. No other cars were involved, but traffic was shut down for hours in both directions at the intersection. Stewart had no passengers in his car. He was taken to Bayfront where he died.
