GROVE CITY, Fla. — Two people suffered critical injuries in a crash late Sunday night at the intersection of San Casa Drive and Placida Road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

A motorcycle and two vehicles were involved in the wreck that happened at 10:20 p.m., the FHP said.

A Honda CBR 1000 attempted to pass a 2000 Dodge Durango while driving northbound on Placida Road when the Honda collided with the Dodge’s rear, the FHP said. The Honda drove across the grass median, onto the southbound shoulder of Placida Road and hit a street light pole.

In addition, a 2014 Ford Flex hit some debris from the initial wreck and stopped on the outside lane of Placida Road facing south, according to the FHP.

The two victims on the Honda motorcycle were taken to hospitals, while people in the other two vehicles suffered no injuries.
