Cyclists improving after North Naples hit-and-run

NORTH NAPLES, Fla. — Two bicyclists are doing better after they were injured in a Saturday night hit-and-run crash, but investigators are still trying to figure out who was behind the wheel of the car that struck them.

Jason Johnson, who suffered critical injuries while riding a Kent bicycle, remains in a Miami trauma unit, but his condition is improving. His friend and fellow cyclist Davin McCook, 25, was treated and released at Naples Community Hospital.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers know the owner of the Hyundai that hit the cyclists at Pine Ridge Road and Taylor Road, but they have yet to determine whether she was the one driving the car at the time.
