IMMOKALEE, Fla. — A 41-year-old man was arrested Wednesday following a drug raid, the Collier County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies and the SWAT team responded to Ruben Arriaga’s home at 702 Taylor Terrace around 5 a.m. There were six young children inside at the time, deputies said.

Once the children were safely taken to a relative’s home, deputies proceeded to search the home.

“All I remember is we heard two loud noises and I heard cops say, ‘Open the door or were gonna break it down,'” said Juan Cervantes, who lives in the home.

Marijuana, a bag of meth and other drug paraphernalia were found in the home, even though Arriaga claimed to be a recovering meth addict, according to police reports.

Arriaga is in custody facing felony and misdemeanor charges with a $7,000 bond.
