ENGLEWOOD, Fla. A 64-year-old man died following a crash Tuesday afternoon at Bargello Street just north of Casa Grande Boulevard, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The wreck took place around 5:53 p.m. Lloyd Proffitt, of Venice, was driving north on Bargello Street in his 1998 Chevrolet when he experienced a medical episode, causing him to drive onto the east side of the roadway and crash into a stand of Brazilian pepper trees, according troopers.
Proffitt was transported to Englewood Community Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
