Portion of SR 70 in DeSoto County reopens following crash

ARCADIA, Fla. A portion of State Road 70 reopened Tuesday morning, a Desoto County official said.

A crash involving a diesel fuel spill happened around 5 a.m. on State Road 70 near Four Mile Grade Road and the DeSoto Correctional Institute, according to a county official.

The wreck closed the westbound lanes of State Road 70 for about three hours, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Drivers were encouraged to find alternate routes. The circumstances leading up to the crash and whether any injuries were involved is unclear.
