CAPE CORAL, Fla. Two people were wounded in a shooting Sunday night on Northwest Embers Terrace, the Cape Coral Police Department said.

Police responded to a call at around 8:30 p.m. the 2200 block of NW Embers Terrace and found two teens with gunshot wounds.

One male, 14, was shot in the face, according to police. Police found him in a pool of blood, and he was taken to the hospital in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.

He also shot in either the hip or back, according to conflicting police statements.

Police found a firearm on the ground near the teen.

Another man, 19-year-old Xavier Francisco Henriquez of Southeast 16th Street, was discovered hiding in the bushes at the 100 block of SW 17th Place with a gunshot wound in his calf, police said.

Both men are considered victims, police said. Henriquez is also referred to as “Henriguez” in a police report.

Detectives are working to find the suspect or suspects involved, police spokesman Lt. Dana S. Coston said.

“This was an isolated, narcotics-related incident between known parties and is not a random act,” Coston said.

The caller described a blue Toyota Camry or Corolla traveling eastbound away from the scene, according to police.

Anyone with information should call police at 239-574-3223.
