Green-shaded areas are under a flood watch until 8 p.m. Wednesday.

A flood watch is in effect for Collier County and inland Hendry County until 8 p.m. Wednesday evening, the weather service also said.

County Road 29 in Everglades City was reopened Tuesday afternoon after being closed for several hours due to “extreme flooding,” the Collier County Sheriff’s Office said. Water was 18 inches high along the road, Collier County Community service volunteers said. A Coca-Cola truck stalled out on the road earlier, the volunteers said.

Water was as deep as 20 inches in other parts of Everglades City, according to the volunteers. Everglades City was closed to tourists.
