Tyson Foods recalls breaded chicken products

WASHINGTON (WSPA) Anyone who recently purchased Tyson Foods chicken products should check their refrigerators.

The company is recalling approximately 2,485,374 pounds of ready-to-eat breaded chicken products, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.

The USDA FSIS announced Friday that the recall is due to misbranding and undeclared allergens. Inspectors said the product could contain milk and that ingredient was not declared on the label.

The affected items were produced and packaged from August 17, 2016 through January 14, 2017, and the USDA said the problem was found on June 6, 2017. These items were shipped to places nationwide – including schools – for institutional use.

The USDA said there have been no reports of adverse reactions from consuming the products, but they should either be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
