Mesac Damas NORTH NAPLES, Fla. A man accused of murdering his wife and five children waived his right to a jury trial Tuesday. Attorneys for Mesac Damas are filling out paperwork on a guilty plea. He will face a sentencing hearing at a later date. Tuesday was to be the start of a trial eight years in the making. Damas, 41, of North Naples, was charged with six counts of first-degree murder in the 2009 killings. He could face the death penalty. Judge Christine Greider was assigned to Damas’ case Friday after Judge Frederick Hardt granted a motion to recuse himself.
