Englewood restaurant owner delivers pizza to Hurricane Irma victims

ENGLEWOOD, Fla. Despite all challenges, the owners of Rob’s Pizzeria delivered hot meals to people who lost power due to Hurricane Irma.

Rob and Mik’el Lee were relieved to see their pizzeria on 1500 Placida Rd. did not sustain any major damage from the storm and quickly got back to work.

Rob’s son and friends joined him Tuesday to deliver more than 100 free hot meals around the neighborhood.

“I had a couple people cry. I can’t tell you how many hugs I got yesterday,” Rob said.

The act of kindness was one the community won’t forget.

“When you step up to the plate and reach out the way Rob’s Pizzeria did, then hands down you’re my hero,” Englewood resident Rustie Macdonald said.
