Hot, humid, with p.m. storms Friday, but change coming

FORT MYERS, Fla. Another hot, humid day with scattered showers and storms is ahead in Southwest Florida — but slight relief is on the way.

Patchy morning fog will give way to increasing clouds and hit-or-miss scattered rain and storms in the afternoon and evening Friday, as the high reaches 93, WINK meteorologist Matt Devitt said.

But humidity is expected to decrease over the weekend and early next week.

“This is the first slight indication of — I wouldn’t say fall-like weather — but at least nearing the end of our summer-time pattern as we will see that pattern temporarily break down in the humidity department.”

Dewpoints will decrease from the 70s to the 60s, effectively removing the chance of rain for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and making it feel less hot, even as highs remain in the 90s.
