Woman accused of impersonating Lee County Walmart employee

SOUTH FORT MYERS, Fla. A woman walked into a Walmart, pretended to work there and left with six Visa gift cards, Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers said.

The unidentified suspect shopped for 10 minutes Aug. 14 at a Walmart at 17105 San Carlos Blvd., according to a Crime Stoppers press release. She gathered six Visa gift cards, seven Mega Ball tickets and other items, and attempted to pay but her card was declined.

So she completed the transaction herself and activated the gift cards after telling an employee she worked there, according to Crime Stoppers.

It’s unclear what happened to the Mega Ball tickets and other items.

The suspect is described as between 30 and 35 years old and wore a pink dress and white slides, Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS. Tipsters will remain anonymous and become eligible for $1,000 reward. Tips can also be made online or through the P3Tips mobile app.
