PUNTA GORDA, Fla. Three days have been added for Charlotte County students to make up for time lost to Hurricane Irma.
Nov. 20, Nov. 21 and May 25 will be school days, the school district said in a press release. They were previously set aside as potential hurricane makeup days before the year began.
The district lost seven days because of the storm, but two were forgiven by the state. The district said it built enough minutes into its days to make up for two other missed days.
Schools in Collier County also approved hurricane makeup plans, while a proposal is pending in Lee County.
