Sgt. lifts Lee County kids’ spirits through holiday program

Published: Updated:

FORT MYERS, Fla. Sgt. Josh Quaintance is making the community safer, one kid at a time.

Quaintance, a member of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Highway Interdiction Unit, recovered $25,000 worth of Walmart gift cards from a suspect in 2016.

He used a portion of the funds to launch “Operation Holiday Stars,” a program that provides holiday gifts to Lee County foster children.

Quaintance is one of five in the running for Lee County Officer of the Year. The award will be given at the sold-out Law & Order Ball, sponsored by WINK News, beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday at Germain Arena in Estero.
