2 arrested after gunshots reported in Port Charlotte

Two people have been arrested in connection with reports of gunshots early Wednesday morning, according to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office.

Daniel Bouchard, 20, was taken into custody for questioning with detectives, according to a tweet from the sheriff’s office.

Law enforcement responded to the call around 5:00 a.m. in the area near Stone Street and Montgomery Drive, according to the sheriff’s office. No one was reported injured.

Detectives were searching for Bouchard, according to the sheriff’s office. Bouchard was last seen wearing black pants and no shirt.

A canine unit apprehended another “involved subject” just before 11 a.m., the sheriff’s office said. This second person’s identity is unknown at this time.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $3,000.
