On Sunday, Collier County Sheriff’s office responded to the report of a shooting and home invasion at a residence in Golden Gate.

On Monday, CCSO reported Estaban Badia, 56, was wounded by a gun shot at his home.

According to the report, Badia answered a knock at the door, and two men dragged him outside into the patio area.

According to the report, Badia’s girlfriend, Monica Thonday said she ran into the bathroom and locked herself in while attempting to call 911. She said she heard two gun shots during that time, went out of the home and found Badia wounded.

According to the report, Thonday, identified two white men in their twenties men as the shooters, one with darker skin tone and possibly Hispanic, both with black eyebrows. She said both were about 5’2″ and 5’3.” One wore a black sweater.

According to the report, Thonday heard one of the accused shooters speak in Spanish and said to locate her, but Thonday could not identify the dialect, saying it was not Cuban or Mexican.

According to the report, while Thonday was in the bathroom, she said the lighter skinned man came in and put a gun to her head and took her phone. The man went back outside where the darker tones man was with Badia. That was when Thonday locked herself in to call 911 and then heard gun shots.
